Apple announces watchOS 3: improved speed and responsiveness, lots of new features
![]() |
Well, WWDC is up and rolling, and the first major OS update to be announced is watchOS 3. A much-needed update to the operating system of the Apple Watch, which seems to add a lot of features to make it more comfortable to use, and more helpful in our day-to-day lives.
Among the updates, we have a faster app launch and operation, thanks to background refresh and pre-loading favorite apps in the memory. We'll also be seeing an easier access to our most often-used apps thanks to an all-new App Dock. An all-new Control Center, housing all of the Watch's essential quick-toggles, will also make an appearance. Replying to messages has also been made much easier, with quick replies appearing right under the received messages, without the user having to tap a "reply" button prior. Typing out your own message is now also possible, thanks to all-new Scribble.
Of course, we'll be getting all-new watchfaces, more updates to the Watch's activity tracking capabilities, and more developer API's.
Story developing, stay tuned!
