Rugged Kyocera DuraForce Pro now available on Verizon, wide-angle action camera on board

Confirming a recent rumor, Verizon Wireless today released the Kyocera DuraForce Pro, a rugged smartphone that's been available on AT&T and Sprint since earlier this year. 


Made for customers in need of a tough handset, the Kyocera DuraForce Pro can survive drops from up to 5 feet (1.5 meters), while also being dust- and water-resistant (IP68-certified). Interestingly, this is the world's first rugged smartphone to feature a wide-angle action camera, which sits next to a regular 13 MP rear camera and lets you shoot full HD video underwater. 



Sporting a 5-inch 1080p Sapphire Shield display, the Kyocera DuraForce Pro is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor, further offering features like LTE connectivity, a fingerprint scanner (embedded in the power button), 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable storage space, and a 3240 mAh battery. A dedicated Push-to-Talk button is also on board.



The Kyocera DuraForce Pro currently runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, and we don't know when (or if) it's going to be updated to Android 7 Nougat. Verizon is selling the new smartphone for $17 per month over 24 months, or $408 outright. Interested?

All classic 8-bit Mega Man titles are coming to mobile in 2017

Good ol' Mega Man Legendary Japanese video game developer Capcom announced that next year will see the release of all classic Mega Man titles on mobile. All of the Blue Bomber's iconic NES adventures will land on both iOS and Android in Japan in 2017. The press release makes no mention of the games coming to the West, but we'd say there's a big chance this happens sometime following the Japanese release. Mega Man is one of the most recognizable video game characters and has starred in over 100 titles. The first six games in the series, the ones that are launching on mobile next year, first came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System between 1987 and 1993.
