Pokemon GO still coming to the Apple Watch

Pokemon GO still coming to the Apple Watch
With rumors circulating that Pokemon GO for the Apple Watch had been scrapped, Niantic disseminated a tweet on Saturday saying that the popular game will be coming to Apple's timepiece soon. Depending on what Niantic means as soon, the promise it made to release the Pokemon GO app for the Apple Watch before the end of the year might be in peril.

The Pokemon GO app for Apple Watch is designed to keep players from having to stare at their iPhone screen all day. It gives Pokemon trainers an idea of where they are in the game and alerts them when a Pokemon is nearby. It is supposed to have the same functionality as the Pokemon GO Plus accessory that can be purchased for $35. That device won't be shipped until next year.

So there it is, directly from the game's developer. The green light is still on for the Apple Watch Pokemon GO app. If you hear rumors that the app has been canceled, ignore them. It is not true! Now, the only question is whether it will arrive this year or in 2017.

Despite rumors to the contrary, Pokemon Go is still coming to the Apple Watch
